the Mysteries of London

Before I had to leave my studio (not just me, we all got kicked out to make way for LUXURY), I was embarking on a new project, The Mysteries of London, which was inspired by the magickal sites in London, especially those around Lombard St.

Old London is built upon a series of holy wells. The ancients worshipped their deities at holy waters, and eventually, they built temples. The Romans came and erected temples over or beside the existing temples. The Christians built churches over the temples.

Many of these early mysteries are hidden in plain sight. I knew many of the places, but I availed myself on a few excellent walks, one hosted by Caroline Wise and another by Marco Visconti – two of the most acclaimed and important members of London’s occulture scene. I learned a lot from both of them!

Although I no longer have a studio, I am continuing to work on the piece, which will eventually become a new show for the Eidophusikon and ultimately a film.
